"Celebration of Champions" HS Volleyball/Girls CC Banquet

Panhandle FCA is proud to announce that it will host the inaugural "FCA Celebration of Champions" high school volleyball and girls cross-country banquet.  This event will be a celebration of character and integrity of those who play and coach volleyball and cross-country in the Texas Panhandle!  Varsity players & runners (those who played or ran at least 75% of the season on the varsity roster, varsity coaches, and executive school administration are invited to this event.  NO split varsity, sub-varsity, or junior high players, parents (with one exception - see below), or general public are invited to this event.

We are honored that our speaker, this year, will be BRANDI CANTRELL. Brandi graduated from Lubbock’s Coronado High School and attended Baylor University on a volleyball scholarship, where she earned a BS in Education. She coached volleyball for the next 10 years serving as Head Volleyball Coach at Canyon, Amarillo Tascosa, and Lubbock Coronado. She took Tascosa to the state semi-finals in 2000, Coronado to the state finals in 2004, and earned State 5-A Coach of the Year in 2004. At that time, God called Brandi into foreign missions where she served Him in Vienna, Austria for 8 years. Brandi joined FCA as a result of the FCA women's ministry initiative to bring more women into field ministry for FCA. Brandi ministers to Texas Tech women sports coaching staffs, and conducts chapels and Bible studies with teams and individual athletes. She also serves on an internal FCA committee called the FCA International Ministry Council.

Because we are honoring the players and coaches of all varsity teams in the Panhandle, there will be NO COST to any attendees for this event.  Each year we will bring in a high profile speaker of excellence to encourage and motivate all who hear their uplifting and life-giving words.

The only requirement for every team that attends this event is we will ask all the players from each team to elect one player as their "FCA MVP."  We will be sending all coaches the criteria for this election and the winning player will be selected by the majority vote of his teammates.  The selection criteria will center around the Four (4) Core Values of FCA which are: Integrity, Teamwork, Serving, and Excellence.  All the selected FCA MVPs will be highly honored during this event, and each will walk away with an FCA MVP award.  At some point during the evening, a picture will be taken with each team's MVP, their Head Coach, and our speaker.  We anticipate that all MVP winners will be featured in our local newspaper and on our local nightly news broadcasts. Each MVP's parents will also be invited to this event.

Each team needs to have a "designated" coach contact who will be responsible for keeping up with attendance commitments of players, coaches, administrators, and the MVP's parents, and who will submit these numbers to FCA at the appropriate deadline dates.  This year's banquet details are as follows:
