FCA Community Luncheon - Mr. Allan Stanglin - Senior Minister, Central Church of Christ

Mon, April 23, 201811:30 AM - 12:55 PM

Several times a year, Panhandle FCA, along with the WTAMU FCA, will join forces to put together a community luncheon. It will be an opportunity for all attendees to hear a great speaker from the Panhandle area, as well as a brief update on upcoming FCA events and activities, while enjoying a very good catered meal.

Our speaker for this luncheon is the Senior Pastor at Amarillo's Central Church of Christ, Mr. Allan Stanglin. Before leaving the mass media industry to dedicate his full-time energies to preaching, Allan enjoyed a 16-year career in sports radio --- reporting, anchoring sportscasts, hosting talk shows and, ultimately, gaining the Sports Director’s position at KRLD in Dallas. After finally submitting to God’s long-time call, Allan earned a Master’s Degree in Theology at Austin Graduate School of Theology while serving as the Associate Minister at the Marble Falls Church of Christ. By God’s grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Allan began his full-time preaching work at the Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills in June 2007. He began his work at Central Church of Christ in Amarillo in August 2011.

Allan is a graduate of Dallas Christian High School and Oklahoma Christian University. He and his wife of 28 years, Carrie-Anne, have three daughters, Whitney, Valerie, and Carley. Allan enjoys reading Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Eugene Peterson. He’s passionate about Texas history, Dr Pepper, and the Lord’s Supper. His preaching emphasizes the grace and mercy of God, the blessing of Christian community, and the sanctification of the saints. And he suffers with a complex love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys.

FCA ministry partner, Dr. Paul Matney, will emcee this luncheon. Doors will open at 11:30 AM for check-in and food service. Lunch will be served until 12:20, at which time Dr. Matney will introduce our guest speaker. FCA promises the event will be finished by 12:55 PM. Cost for lunch is $10 and payment will be taken at check-in.  Reservations are required and are taken on the honor system. To make a reservation, please go to Luncheon Reservation, or call the FCA office at 806.212.0771. If your plans change, and you cannot attend, you must notify us before the day of the event, otherwise, we will expect you to pay for your lunch.
