Several times a year, Panhandle FCA, along with the WTAMU FCA, will join forces to put together a community luncheon. It will be an opportunity for all attendees to hear a great speaker from the Panhandle area, as well as a brief update on upcoming FCA events and activities, while enjoying a very good catered meal.
Coach Blake Bryant is currently the longest tenured active head football coach to serve one school in the Texas Panhandle. Entering his 20th season at the helm of the Canyon football program, he took Canyon High to an 11-2 season in 2018 that saw the Eagles advance to the Class 4A Division I Regional Finals. Bryant leads the Amarillo area with 140 wins to just 76 losses. In his 20 seasons, Bryant and his staff has helped Canyon to 15 playoff appearances.
Coach Bryant began his coaching career 30 years ago at Tarleton State where he had also been a student athlete, and he coached in Pasadena and Odessa before coming to Canyon High School in April 2000.
Blake and his wife Holly, who has been by his side since they were students at Tarleton State, have 2 children, Bill and Bayli.
FCA ministry partner, Dr. Paul Matney, will emcee this luncheon. Doors will open at 11:30 AM for check-in and food service. Lunch will be served until 12:20, at which time Dr. Matney will introduce our guest speaker. FCA promises the event will be finished by 12:55 PM. Cost for lunch is $13 and payment will be taken at check-in. Reservations are required and are taken on the honor system. To make a reservation, please go to Luncheon Reservation, or call the FCA office at 806.212.0771. If your plans change, and you cannot attend, you must notify us before the day of the event, otherwise, we will expect you to pay for your lunch.
