Our annual WTAMU FCA Game Day Rally will be a great time of ridiculous fun, spiritual inspiration, and incredible fellowship as you'll be joined by over 1,000 other students from across the Panhandle for an afternoon that you will not want to miss. The event will be held on Saturday, September 28, in the First United Bank Events Center on the southeast corner of the WTAMU campus.
Panhandle FCA is thankful to have Corbin Young as our keynote speaker this year. Corbin has been on staff with FCA, in various roles and cities, all across West Texas since 2010. He was the first Area Representative to ever serve in Brownwood, the first Area Director in Midland and Odessa, and transitioned into his current role as the Men's Athletic Chaplain at Texas Tech University in 2017. Corbin also serves as Director of the Texas Tech FCA Sports Camp in Lubbock.
Originally from Paradise, Texas, Corbin was a student-athlete at Howard Payne University, where he was an All-Conference football player, All-American weightlifter, and received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in theology and ministry. He is licensed and ordained to vocational ministry, and has also served four different churches around Texas and Canada in youth ministry and pastor positions.
Corbin and his wife, Kandace, who played college tennis, met through FCA at HPU. Kandace and Corbin are members at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and have 3 children: Kensler Cy (son, 6), Arabelle (daughter, 2), and a baby boy (due September 2019). In their free time, when they are not attending Texas Tech games or playing sports, you will either find the Young's in the outdoors hunting or on a lake fishing somewhere.
Local area musicians will provide praise music giving this event high energy, upbeat, contemporary Christian worship. Two WTAMU athletes will be sharing their testimonies during the event.
In return for paying only $10 to attend this event, students will receive a one-of-a-kind Game Day tee shirt; a ticket to the football game; a fresh cooked hamburger dinner; the speaker, and the music.
Deadline for registration is Monday, September 23.
Adult Sponsors should enter through the front doors (located on the east side of the events center) in order to pay for their students and to pick-up tee shirts and game tickets. Students should wait and enter through the side doors (located on the south side of the events center). Check-in for the rally begins at 12:30 PM, with the program beginning at 1:30 PM, with the message and rally concluding around 3:00 PM, and DINNER being served at 3:00 PM. Everyone will need to walk over to the new Buffalo Stadium as the football game begins at 5:00 PM. This rally is Panhandle FCA's largest student ministry outreach event of the year, with an average of over 1,000 in attendance in each of the last five years.
